Description
As part of the Kaleidoskop exhibition Schulz created a flexible painting installation and wrote a performance for the iconic Rotunde of the Große Kunstschau designed by Artist and Architect Bernhard Hötger in 1927. 18 large plates work with the different qualities of the space. They are painted on the front and printed with structural poetic text on the back side. During the exhibition the painting installation will take different forms within the space. The performance was developed with actress Laetitia Mazzotti. She works only with respiration without vocal cords and uses the almost invisible cupola of the Rotunde as an amplifier.
im Flug. flüchtig (Partitur)deals with questions of holding, piling and placing as social metaphors.
During his 3 months research residency at the ZiF – Center for Interdisciplinary Research in 2019 Schulz showed the painting installation and changed it every day.
